I think the Title of poem means:
I think the title “Dreamers” means the poem will be told by a soldier or about a soldier dreaming to come home from the trenches.

Paraphrase parts of the Poem

The soldiers are in war and battling each hour for they might lose their life. The soldiers begin to dream about home when the guns start to be fired. The soldiers see their life when they look in dug-outs and trenches. They begin to lose hope that they will ever go home.

Connotation of some of the words—changing literal meaning to implied or associated values

The poem uses symbolism when it says “death's gray land”. The poem also uses alliteration when it says “mocked by hopeless longing to regain”. The poem uses repetition saying “and” to begin half of the lines in stanza two.

The attitude is sadness and hopefulness.
